Regardless of whether you’re a gym rat or just an ordinary gym go-er like myself trying to incorporate some fitness into everything else in life, we all have one thing in common: those days where you just don’t have time for a shower. You know what I mean, right? Those days where you squeeze in a workout sesh before lecture, or right before going out because well, consistency.
Either way, a shower-less workout whether at home or at the gym can leave us feeling sub-par, so here are a few tips on how to freshen up after a workout when you don’t have time to shower.
1. Baby Wipes
Baby wipes are a great way of keeping those crucial areas clean and feeling fresh. The wipes are made specially for babies’ sensitive skin, so what’s the harm in using them for adults? They’re ideal for a quick wipe down to remove the sticky feeling left over by sweat. What’s better is that it leaves you feeling cool and refreshed. There are so many to choose from–regular wipes, wipes for sensitive skin, scentless wipes, or natural wipes–just make sure to remember not to flush them down the toilet as that will harm the environment.
2. Facial Cleansing Wipes
It’s important to remove sweat, oil, or any dirt particles from your face to prevent breaking out, and face wipes will do just that. There is a huge variety of wipes available for all the different skin types out there; whether you prefer cheaper drugstore options or high end brands at Sephora, that is up to you. Like the baby wipes, it’ll leave you feeling cool and refreshed. And again, please remember not to flush these down the toilet!
P.S. Just because face wipes advertise themselves to remove makeup, it doesn’t mean that men can’t use them! If you’re worried about the scent, try a scentless one or try wipes from Nivea–I believe they are a unisex brand.
3. Dry Shampoo
It’s not uncommon for hair to become slightly oily after a hard workout, but do not fear–dry shampoo is here! There are options out there for both men and women that’ll help keep your hair looking nice and clean after being drenched in sweat.
After using those baby wipes, apply some deodorant to keep body odour in check throughout the day. I personally can’t do without deodorant. I don’t know if I stink or not, but my worst fear is not realizing that I stink and walking around hitting everyone with my revolting BO.
5. A Simple Updo
A ponytail is your best friend after a hard workout. Not only does it hide oily hair, it’s a quick and simple hairstyle that will leave you looking lovely and ready to tackle the rest of your day.
